Markus received his B.A. in Political Science from University of California, Los Angeles, in 1991, and his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1997. After a tumultuous year working with a law firm in Panama and Belize, he moved to Modesto and started representing injured workers in workers' compensation cases in the fall of 1998. He joined Rockwell, Kelly & Duarte, LLP in 2012. Markus has an outstanding reputation among his peers in the workers' compensation legal community.

Markus enjoys spending time with his wife (whom he married in Durango, Mexico) and his two children. He loves activities out of doors.

Markus speaks several languages, including Spanish.
